Aberdeen Restaurant Enterprises Limited Welcomes Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan

Aberdeen Restaurant Enterprises Limited Welcomes Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan and Reaffirms Continued Collaboration with Organisations in the Southern District to Advance Cultural, Technological and Tourism Development

(Hong Kong, 18 September 2026) — Aberdeen Restaurant Enterprises Limited welcomes the official release of the First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026–2030), and believes the Plan provides new opportunities for cultural, technological and tourism development in the Southern District.

As a company rooted in the Southern District for over five decades, we have long collaborated with local community organisations, chambers, fishermen groups, youth organisations, cultural associations and district-based platforms to support harbour culture preservation, tourism innovation and youth development. The Five-Year Plan offers a clearer framework for how district-level initiatives can align with Hong Kong’s long-term development.

Several major directions in the Plan align closely with the strengths of the Southern District, including:

  • Cultural, sports and tourism integration with enriched high-quality tourism offerings
  • Smart city development and wider adoption of innovation and technology
  • Youth development and social inclusion
  • Marine ecological protection and green transformation

With its unique harbour heritage, fishing traditions, shipbuilding history, coastal ecology and country park resources, the Southern District is well positioned to support these policy directions.

Emphasis on Collaboration : Our Commitment

Aberdeen Restaurant Enterprises Limited will continue to work closely with organisations in the Southern District, including:

  • Community organisations
  • Chambers and business associations
  • Fishermen and marine-related groups
  • Youth and ethnic minority organisations
  • Cultural and educational bodies
  • District platforms and resident groups
to jointly advance:
  • Harbour culture preservation and digitalisation
  • Smart tourism and cultural-tech applications
  • Enhanced visitor experience and cross-tourist attraction collaboration
  • Youth and ethnic minority talent development
  • Coastal ecological education and low-carbon marine activities

We look forward to joining hands with stakeholders across the Southern District to help the area become a key demonstration site for cultural-tourism integration, smart tourism and marine cultural education under the Five-Year Plan.
